Established in 1983
K H Perry & Co has been servicing client’s accountancy and taxation requirements for more than 50 years. The firm was established by Mr Kenneth Perry is 1955, opening his first office in Newcastle.
This was followed by an office in Mayfield and lastly Mr Perry’s son, Ian Perry, opened the Toronto office in 1983. The Firm has two Directors being Mr Ian Perry, with over 40 year’s experience and Mr Darren McKenzie, with over 26 years’ experience.

Darren McKenzie
Partner

Darren started with the Firm in 1989 as a Trainee Accountant. Having completed his degree at the University of Newcastle and obtaining qualification as a Chartered Accountant, Darren was presented with the opportunity to progress to a Partner of the Firm in 2002.
As a Director of the Firm, Darren provides high-level tax consulting, planning, compliance and business advisory services to a diverse range of clients.
Darren is able to assist with the setup of structures that can optimise the tax planning process such as Family Trusts, SMSFs and Corporate structures. Darren enjoys meeting new clients and discussing how he can work together with the client for a beneficial outcome.
Connie Medhurst

Connie joined the Firm in 2005 in an Administration role before quickly moving into an Accounting Traineeship. Completing her University Degree in 2010, Connie has also completed her post-graduate studies with CPA Australia. Connie was presented with the opportunity to progress to Partner of the Firm in 2018.
Connie’s client portfolio continues to diversify as she works closely with Medical Professionals, Real Estate Agencies, Construction and Manufacturing Businesses, Arboriculture and Professional Practices to ensure her Clients achieve their strategic goals and desired business outcomes.
Connie is a Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor and Certified Xero Advisor who has extensive experience in assisting with the re-design of client accounting systems.
Ian Perry

Ian joined the Firm in 1971, having completed his Degree in Engineering at the University of Newcastle.
Ian then commenced the Chartered Institute Accounting Course obtaining qualification in 1977, ICAA Public Practice Certificate in 1978, and admitted to the Degree of Fellow in 1983.
Ian is a Registered Company Auditor and specialises in complex business management advice based on extensive commercial experience and multi-discipline qualifications.
His knowledge across a broad range of industries attracts clients from a diverse base and geographical locations wanting to capitalise on his experience and seek his advice.
Anne Berresford
Accountant
B.Econ
Anne joined the Firm in 2014 having worked in both public practice and for small and medium businesses for over 30 years.
Anne specialises in the areas of taxation, financial and management accounting.
Anne completed the Chartered Accountants programme with The Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1992 and has a Bachelor of Economics with Macquarie University.
Haley Clark
Accountant
Haley joined our Firm in January 2023, she has recently moved back to Lake Macquarie after living in Mt Isa for 12 years.
Haley has experience in management accounting and public practice, and is currently studying a Bachelor of Accounting with UNE.
Donna Peak
Office Manager
Donna began her working career at K H Perry & Co over 25 years ago as a Junior Admin Trainee and has been working with the Firm in an ever expanding role ever since.
She has a unique understanding of the commercial needs to every client group, and she values the opportunity as Office Manager of ensuring that the Firm’s services are delivered seamlessly and promptly.
Donna is responsible for the administrative management of the business and as the Firm’s ASIC, Office of State Revenue and ATO Liaison Officer she is also an expert in attending to the intricacies of Corporate and other documentation.
